The uncertainty surrounding all of us these days has pushed many “normal” activities off my to-do list. Campaigns and elections are among those that don’t seem quite as compelling right now.
Nevertheless, there are some elected positions that are just too important to put on the back burner – and the Washington State Attorney General’s Office is certainly one of those that rises in importance during a crisis.
I’m proud to endorse Mike Vaska to become Washington’s next Attorney General. Mike values leadership over partisanship. As our AG, he will bring people together to solve the challenges our state faces.
As your Attorney General, it was when I used my “convening power” to bring together experts, policymakers and advocates to tackle tough challenges that I found some of my greatest satisfaction. The AG is in a position to confront the toughest issues – in my case, the methamphetamine and opioid epidemics, human trafficking, gang violence, and children’s internet safety were among the problems we took on by building effective coalitions. For Mike, homelessness and cybercrime rise to the top of the list of pressing problems he wants to address.
Mike is a skilled, deeply experienced attorney and community leader who will be the kind of servant leader we need in the AG’s office. He will ensure that professionalism and fairness are guiding values for the outstanding women and men who work there.
Please join me in supporting Mike Vaska for Attorney General – you will be proud of the work he’ll do for all Washingtonians.
