Our state has a history of electing Republican Attorneys General. As Governor, I served with my longtime friend Slade Gorton, who was elected AG in 1969, and served for three terms before being elected U.S. Senator.
Thankfully, our state’s voters have elected extremely qualified Republicans with strong character and experience to this important office, like Rob McKenna, who served two terms before running for Governor. This focus on experience and character is why I — joining with every living former Washington Republican statewide officeholder — endorse Mike Vaska for Attorney General.
This focus on experience and character is why I — joining with every living former Washington Republican statewide officeholder — endorse Mike Vaska for Attorney General.
I have worked closely with Mike for many years. I have seen first-hand how Mike has worked hard on many initiatives to improve our communities. He has also proven himself as a leader in politics, helping recruit and elect Republicans to office. He is a true team player I am proud to support.
Mike Vaska has the experience we need
Mike’s had a successful career at one of the Northwest’s leading law firms, recovering millions of dollars for consumers as the lead attorney for the firm’s consumer protection and antitrust practice.
He helped lead the Republican-sponsored Referendum 49 campaign to reduce car tabs by $30, and successfully defended that referendum before the State Supreme Court. He’s also won cases to reduce regulations, protect property rights, and protect the right to a fair arbitration.
To put it simply, Mike is supremely qualified to serve as our state’s next Attorney General and fight for our shared values.
Please, join me in supporting Mike — our best choice and best chance to return a high-character Republican to the AG’s office and defeat Bob Ferguson.
