May 17 Sunday Supper
Limiting the Governor’s Emergency Powers and what’s wrong with K-12 Sex Education
Please join us for our Sunday Supper at 4pm Sunday, where we will discuss how long the Governor’s emergency powers should last during a health crisis with State Senator Hans Zeiger, who successfully sponsored legislation to limit some emergency powers, and is proposing stricter limits now. Hans is now running for a seat on the Pierce County Council.
We’ll also be joined by Maia Espinoza, a candidate for the non-partisan office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, and she’ll share her ideas on how the state can help educate our children during the crisis and what she thinks of the K-12 Sex Ed bill passed by the Legislature this year.
You’ll hear my views on these subjects, and in honor of candidate filing week, we’ll discuss the joys and challenges of running for office during a pandemic.
